Who knew that art critique has utility in medicine?

There has been a lot of talk on #medtwitter this week about the merit of pimping (on the spot questioning) of med students. Here is a curated commentary on the topic.

Julia Engel has done it again! This dusty rose and burgundy look is fall perfection.

I recently shared my favorite candles for fall, so it’s no surprise that I enjoyed Cupcakes and Cashmere’s candle guide!

I love wearing makeup, but it’s not practical every day. This post from From Roses about her reasons for wearing makeup is a good read.

Haley has started a new packing series as she navigates the residency interview trail. Read about her creative ways to pack beauty essentials in a carry-on!

Fellow bloggers: The Federal Trade Commission updated their disclosure guidelines earlier this year, which are based on the principle that consumers should be made aware when they are being advertised to and when the influencer gains financially from their posts. If you’re a blogger, check out this Q&A to make sure your website, blog posts, and social media posts are compliant with the guidelines!

On a lighter note, one of my classmates shared this healthy burrito recipe with me this week, and it looks delicious! She recommends letting the burrito thaw in the fridge overnight so it’s perfect for lunch the next day.

I am intrigued by Bath and Body Works new Peppermint and Rosemary candle. It seems like a love it or hate it scent.

I’ve been looking for a pink plaid scarf for a while, and I think I’ve found a winner. Now if the weather would cool down enough for scarves!

Loft is alllllll over the embroidery trend for fall. This floral embroidered sweater is beautiful!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend! I’m off to a conference to present my research project. Let me know what you’re looking forward to this weekend in the comments!

  • Glomerulus, art, or both? #teamroom #medschool #oncall
  • This group of students went to the Louisiana State Medical Society House of Delegates yesterday as representatives of our school and the medical student section. We may have listened to debates on bylaw tedium for a little too long, but it was interesting to see how the LSMS adopts policy! #healthcare #advocacy #medschool #lifeloveandmedicine
  • A romantic, casual Valentine’s #ootd on the blog today (link in profile)! Do you have any plans for Valentine’s day? I’m thinking a casual dinner with my hubby will be perfect!

  • @influenster sent me @Suavebeauty’s new Suave Naturals lotion and body wash to try (for free). This product line’s claim to fame is that the products are free of paraben and dyes. Parabens are preservatives used in many products. The research on their effects is inconclusive, so it’s difficult to say whether or not you should avoid parabens in products. In terms of performance of these products, they are just average. I prefer more moisturizing lotions and body washes, especially in the winter.
