In the Dressing Room: LOFT Late Summer

In the Dressing Room: LOFT Late Summer

LOFT is one of my favorite stores. They always have clothes that can easily be dressed up or down, which is perfect for a student on a budget! (They also have great sales too!). I went to my local store for a sale, and I tried on several pieces, so I thought I would share how they fit. For reference, I am 5’9″, and I typically wear a size 12.

First up is the crochet lace romper in a size 12. A romper has been on my wardrobe bucket list all summer! I was struggling to find one because a lot of rompers have have a drop waist, and that did not flatter me at all. This one hit at my natural waist, and I like that it’s black because it looks a little more mature. I bought it that day 50% off. I can’t wait to make an outfit post around it!

This is the summer eyelet dress in a size 12. I was drawn to the beautiful berry color, but I was not a fan of the fit. It was very big on me, but there wasn’t a 10 in the store to try on. I may give it another try in the future.

The polka dot blouse is a medium, and the purple is a large. I love the polka dots on the first one, but the medium was too tight in the arms, so I tried on the large in the purple. The purple is a pretty color, but it did not feel very “me”. I was hoping to order the polka dot one online, but I can’t find it on the website. It is either too old or too new to be on the website. If I find it later I’ll post the links!

This is the eyelet midi skirt in a size 10. I have not lost any weight recently, so I’m not really sure why I needed to go down to a 10 so many times on this shopping trip. When I saw this skirt I thought I would definitely like it…but I didn’t once I tried it on. This skirt hits mid-calf (like a true midi), but I prefer a-line skirts like this to hit just below the knee. I suppose I’ll have to keep hunting for the perfect swingy skirt!

I tried on the lace peplum tee too, but I didn’t try it on with a tank top, so I couldn’t put a picture of me trying it on here! It fit me the same way it looks on the model, and I loved it! I will always be drawn to maroon, because it is one of my alma mater’s colors. I will probably buy this top the next time a sale rolls around!

I always get so excited when stores release new arrivals, especially in the fall. Which store’s new arrivals do you get excited about?
