Hi everyone! I hope you had a very Happy Thanksgiving! Jacob and I started off my break from school last week by going to Houston to see Pentatonix is concert. They were amazing! I was a little disappointed that they didn’t do any Christmas songs, but I guess they were being respectful of Thanksgiving. I’ll just listen to their new Christmas album on repeat for the next few weeks!

I’m so excited to introduce the Life, Love, & Medicine Holiday Guide 2016! I’ve admired other bloggers making these gift guide magazines for the past couple of years, and I thought I try it out this year. I’ve been working on this all month, and I’m proud of the result. This guide is filled with holiday outfit inspiration and gift guides for everyone on your list! Enjoy!
Well, I’ve been back to school for a week and it’s already hectic! The first course this semester is Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, and we have a test. every. single. Monday. I experienced burn out for the first time at the end of last semester, so I visited the school counselor before classes started last week to figure out to avoid burn out because this year is going to be tough. She suggested some study tips to help me study more efficiently so I have more time to relax. Adjusting to a new study schedule has been nerve-wracking because I won’t know if it’s working until I take my test today (wish me luck!).
Last week we learned all about how bacteria grow, activate our immune system, and how antibiotics work to fight infection over the course of 20 lectures, which is probably the most we have ever learned in one week. For the next two weeks we are going to be learning about specific bacteria and how they cause disease. Fortunately the first week had the most lectures, so I’m hoping that the next 6 weeks are at least a little bit less stressful. I also hope that I start enjoying this subject more, because right now learning about the microbes that are EVERYWHERE is making me feel icky.
I wore this outfit on the first day of school, and I have not looked as cute since. I’ve been admiring swing dresses on others for awhile, but I finally bought one during Old Navy’s Fourth of July sale. I love how it floats as I walk! I thought a swingy dress deserved a swingy tassel necklace, and I finished off the look with my Olivia Burton watch and Jack Rogers sandals because nothing says “put together” like matching accessories (at least, that’s what I tell myself when I’m rushing out the door!).
I received my watch as a Christmas gift, but it took me until last week to finally get a link taken out so I could wear it! It makes me feel like a serious med student. Olivia Burton’s watches are so beautiful! You’ll want them all:
